Presumably, they revealed it because of where the anime has ended up in Japan–I won’t spoil it, but there’s a decent chance that Ash will encounter one of these puppies in the upcoming episode overseas. I get it we shouldn’t have super high expectations for new forms or whatnot it’s just a touch lame that the very first information of any kind that we get about Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is this slightly altered coloration of an existing Pokemon. Its been confirmed that a new form of Lycanroc appears in the world of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon known as Dusk Form Lycanroc. This is apparently called “Dusk form” and seems to occur when Rockruff evolves at sunset, though the official site says it isn’t obtainable by normal means. If they told me that was its shiny coloring, I wouldn’t know any better. So, that, uh, looks exactly like Lycanroc’s Midday form, but oranger and with green eyes.
